Sona College of Technology

The Sona Group has a long history of success and heritage dating back to before independence. Karumuttu Thiagaraja Chettiar, the founder of The Sona Group, was the perfect embodiment of the textile industries in the early twentieth century. Industry engagement, green campus, community growth, global vision, student-centric learning climate, transparency, synergy through collaboration, commitment to excellence, women empowerment, and the Centre for Social Responsibility Initiatives are all objectives of Sona College of Technology.

For the empowerment of women, The Department of Science and Technology's Science for Equity, Empowerment, and Development (SEED) Division granted Sona College of Technology funds to build the Rural Women Technology Park (WTP) in Salem, which trains rural women. To empower the underprivileged and economically vulnerable sectors of the society, Sona College of Technology established the Centre for Social Responsibility Initiatives, which provides training programs in career development and entrepreneurship initiatives with community engagement and partnership with government and corporate partners.
